Fundraising Idea: Give Out Day

Campus Pride utilizes the time, talent and skills of students, faculty, staff and educators to fulfill our mission of creating safer, more LGBTQ-friendly colleges and universities.

Volunteers help our organization continue to grow in supporting the needs of LGBTQ and Ally student leaders and campus groups. One principal method volunteers support Campus Pride is through fundraising

How might one setup a volunteer fundraising campaign? Here’s a great idea to check out:

Give OUT Day

Give OUT Day is the national day of giving for the LGBTQ community – a 24-hour online fundraising competition that unites the LGBTQ community nationally to raise critically needed funds to support the diverse array of LGBTQ nonprofits including community centers, arts groups, organizers, clinics, student clubs, sports leagues and more.

Give OUT Day is essential to helping Campus Pride further provide programming and resources to LGBTQ youth. Beginning Thursday, May 21st from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm Eastern, help Campus Pride encourage others to build the next generation of LGBTQ leaders.
HOW TO:

1.) Donate

Give $10, $35, $50 or more back to LGBTQ youth.

2.) Encourage Others to Give

Spread the word to family and friends. Reach out personally and help others understand the importance of Campus Pride’s work to yourself and others across the nation and exemplify why they should donate. Setup a personal donation page through GiveOUTday.org and encourage your family and friends to help you reach a personal donation goal.

3.) Social Media

Share this campaign as well as your personal donation page on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and any other social media platforms you may be a part of! Or– Guide people by smartphone or online to Campus Pride’s donation page- CampusPride.org/Donate

4.) Congratulate yourself on a job well done!

Your efforts directly impact Campus Pride in a huge way. With more fundraising campaigns, Campus Pride is able to further advance the tools, programs, and resources provided to LGBTQ college students.

If you’re eager for more fundraising ideas, consider some of these other opportunities:

• Plan a fundraising event (talent show, spoken word night, etc) to collect donations.
• Consider current philanthropic planned events and adding Campus Pride to the donations list.
